I inherited a 600+ opera record collection 78's from my grandfather. He lived in New Orleans and was respected as an authority on operas of his time. Many of his writings are in the Tulane University library. He has hand writtena 3x5 alphbetized index card file totaling about 300 cards. About 300 of these records are in individual dark blue jackets. This group is numbered from 1-280 and corresponds to their respective card. The other approximate 300 records are in old 10-set binders. Most of these records are red seal Victors. I noticed one record was transparent red which read Victor red seal deluxe. There where more 2-sided records than 1-sided records. Some have black Victor labels on them. Other labels were Columbia and other different ones. There are about as many artists as there are cards. My grandfather listened to his records so I would imagine they are in very good condition not mint or excellent. Myself, not knowing foreign languages, guess that these are mostly Italian and some French records. On some of these records he handwrote the year 1915-1940. My grandfather Albert Voss passed away in 1965.
These records and album sets are in 8 boxes. I will sell all or none of them for a fair market value price. If interested please contact me at my email address.
