We are saving the Oak cabinet but will be selling the motor assembly--turntable--top plate with tonal arm, reproducer, break switch. Also, the wood sound box or horn can be removed.

This is my dad's collection mixed in with my grandparents'. It is fully indexed with a card catalog. Name an artist, I can pull every record they appear on. Name a song, I can do the same again. Over one thousand records. I don't know much about this music, but all I can say is that it is the popular music (USA) from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. As far as I know, EVERY record has a sticker on its label with an accession number, and I know that is not a good thing. Thanks for reading.

First of all hello, this is my first post.

I found this forum looking for information about 78 records. Can anyone please tell me if they are worth anything? I have posted this story (http://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/jqjex/urban_legend_come_true_story_and_pics_inside_also/) on reddit and someone pointed at this community. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm selling 78s. I have between 48 to 60 records. They are stored in "books". The books are in so-so condition (some of the page, if not most, are ripped) and the records are in okay condition (I believe. I am not an expert and am new at this).

If anyone is interest I will compile a list of the records. Probably from the 1940s which are not big sellers (so I've read on this website). Or if anyone can give me advice on how to recycle them I'd appreciate it. I hate to just send them to the landfill as I doubt they are biodegradable :)

THANK YOU.
