Hey People hope yall are doing well....
I need a hand with a very simple Question: I have a 1915 hand crank Sonora Phonograph, and I would like to know how many crank turns I can’t achieve without breaking the spring, handle or shaft...?

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

The text below in quotations is taken verbatim from the Sonora instruction manual which was in the phonograph that I just purchased this past weekend. Phonograph was in mint condtition and unplayed for 65 years. The instructions are for either the Troubabour or Fantasie model Sonora Phonographs.

"Place Winding Key "K" into WInding Key Hole "L", as far as it will go,
and wind until almost sudden resistance is felt which signifies that the instrument is fully wound up."
