My father recently passed away and left me with an absolutely massive collection of records. I would like to start the process of cataloging in a professional way in an Excel spreadsheet and was wondering if one of the experts on this site had one, or could tell me what fields I should have in the spreadsheet to do it right. I would like to take my time over many months, perhaps years and put every field of data a professional from the music industry would appreciate. I would also prefer not to use one of the programs I've seen on the web and just stick with an Excel spreadsheet format.
Any advise would be appreciated.
